Team Decaf Tuesday Ride
May 16, 2023 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Hello. Tomorrow, we are going to do a new route – in honor of election day. We will be doing a route that takes us through all 9 City Council districts (District 4 is the one that made this a hilly endeavor).
This election cycle, it is the odd-number districts that are up for election (1, 3, 5, 7, 9).
Standard Route:
Here is the standard route (21.3 miles, 1563 ft elevation gain):

Shorter Route:
Note: Riders who wish to skip the hills Districts 2 and 4 can go back via the Jail Trail from downtown using this route (14.4 miles, 499 ft elevation gain):

Fun issues (for the full route. The shorter route does not do either of these):
· We will be taking the sidewalk to cross the Liberty Bridge and to climb McCardle.
· Between Bausman and Parklow is an unmarked trail. Keep your eyes peeled. We will be walking our bikes here (sorry, but this was the shortest way that I could include District 4).
Districts in order of occurrence:
District 7 – Deb Gross (up for election vs Jordan Botta) – (we start here):
District 9 – Ricky Burgess (up for election, not running. Candidates are Khari Mosley and Khadijah Harris)- (when we cross Stanton on Highland)
District 8 – Erika Strassburger – (when we cross Center on Highland)
District 6 – R. Daniel Lavelle – (when we cross Center on Melwood)
District 1 – Bobby Wilson (up for election vs Steven Oberst) – (when we cross Liberty at the bottom on Polish Hill)
District 3 – Bruce Kraus (up for election, not running. Only candidate is Bob Charland) – (when we cross the Liberty Bridge)
District 2 – Theresa Kail-Smith – (when we get to McCardle after crossing the Liberty Bridge)
District 4 – Anthony Coghill – (when we start to walk up the trail from Bausman to Parklow)
District 5 – Barb Warwick (up for election vs Laura Brillman) – (when we turn onto Second Ave after the Jail Trail)
Front and rear lights are recommended.
Sunset will be 8:30PM. Jason leads.
