TEAM DECAF Tuesday Ride – May 9. Celebrate Josh Gibson

Standard Route

This route will pass by the following items regarding Josh Gibson. I have put a ‘squiggle’ in the route by each of the following locations.

1. Forbes Field (3.5 mile) – where Josh Gibson played for most of his career with the Homestead Grays.
2. Station Square (8.9 mile) – Josh Gibson Heritage Park

Note:  After Station Square we go to the Jail Trail, cut thru the jail parking lot, up the Second Ave sidewalk and then thru the Armstrong Tunnel.  When going thru the tunnel – use the protected sidewalk on the left hand (down river) side.

3. Memory Lane – Josh Gibson Field (12.4 mile).  This entire section of the community (Memory Lane) was where Greenlee Field used to be – home of the Pittsburgh Crawfords who Josh Gibson also played for.
4. Bedford Ave – Josh Gibson Historical Marker (12.5 mile)
5. Allegheny Cemetery – Josh Gibson Grave (15.9 mile)
